Call for Papers: ETCJ Series on AI Implementation Issues

ETC Journal (https://etcjournal.com/) call for essay submissions from college professors and instructors on problems they’re facing in adopting/adapting AI in their courses. The submissions will form an ongoing series that emphasizes AI-related issues from the classroom teacher’s perspective in a style that’s professional yet personal and natural. Since the focus is on the instructor’s voice, limit the use of AI assistance to brainstorming and writing mechanics. The submission, between roughly 500 and 3,000 words, should focus on and develop a specific problem via a first-person, engaging, narrative style that invites further dialogue. Writers have the option to submit, as a follow-up, additional essays on different AI issues. For an example of the type of essay we’re looking for, see Finn Anderson’s “Let’s Not Forget: Low-Tech Classrooms Aren’t the Only Solution to the AI Cheating Crisis” (https://tinyurl.com/533tds3x). Email inquiries and drafts to Jim Shimabukuro (jamess@hawaii.edu) in plain text or MS Word (.docx) format. A headshot and a brief professional bio will be required for publication.
